The ICT in Education Conference has been running since 2004 and is held on the Thurles campus of TUS (formerly Limerick Institute of Technology) in May of each year. We missed 2020 because of COVID-19 and now are back with a day-long in-person conference on May 11, 2024.
The conference provides an opportunity for educators across all levels to connect and share. It has grown in popularity over the years and now attracts attendees from primary, secondary and third level as well as adult and community education. The conference is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in integrating technology into their teaching and learning to meet with others to learn and to share.
The 2024 planning committee meet inside weekly Teams Meetings, bringing together ideas that connect education, theory and street-wise practise.
The #ictedu conference showcases workshops, panel discussions, case studies, Keynote and Capstone addresses to amplify effective methods teachers, lecturers and practitioners use to enhance the resonance and reach of their own best practice and to energise voices in creative classrooms and online activities. The event provides a place where enthusiastic educators can once again meet in person, building and sustaining relationships that span across three levels of education.
A pre-conference S.T.E.A.M. Evening (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths) takes place every year. The S.T.E.A.M. Evening is an informal event with a focus on practical skills predominantly in the Maker arena. Maker Education is a fun and engaging way for students to build 21st century skills through engaging in project and problem based learning.
